After being heartbroken Julia Roberts hits the road on a journey called eat pray love. As I prepare to hit the road running again, many people have told me this trip sounds like a movie - but I beg to differ - I call it living life out loud. The simple truth is this:  we are in this world but for a moment in time. Our job while we are here is not to acquire things, climb to top executive positions, or spend our time toiling away now thinking that we will somehow earn the money to buy that time back later. Where is Manhattan Beach?

No its not in New York...its in California of course. I departed early from Augusta, GA (5:00 A.M. early) and arrived in Atlanta just in time to catch my flight to DFW (Dallas Fort Worth). Along the way I met a tall man with a large belt buckle, a ten gallon hat, and a pair of cowboy boots. Who was he? I greeted the gentleman and instantly realized he wasn't just your regular old cowboy. He was a professional! A professional cowboy, you ask? Yes. He works for the Brangus Beef Breeders Association ( http://www.int-brangus.org/ ). The Brangus Beef Breeders Association is a group of beef cattle ranchers. This gentleman was not only a rancher but a liaison between the market, the USDA, the breeders, the packers and the ranchers. Whew...sounds like a lot huh? After a hold in Atlanta and some confusion as to whether or not we had all of the luggage on board (praying I still have clean underwear when I get there) we were off. I boarded the plane and took a seat in between two women. One was on her way to San Antonio for a National Workforce Association Conference, the other is headed to my conference. I always have wondered about the people I meet along the way, the business that gets done, and the stories that are told. My better half calls the people you meet "single serving friends", because you usually only know them long enough to share your life's story before going in separate directions. I guess it is kind of like a free single therapy session with a non-credential doctor you've just met. Nonetheless, this flight proved to be no less interesting than all the rest.
