Bus Wars: Megabus v. Greyhound

Currently on MegaBus somewhere between DC and Pittsburgh, PA.  The outlandish price of gas in and around the Metro area has lead me to do some pretty outlandish things myself.  I must admit, it is like being on vaction from myself (rather European like).  After the journey to snow-filled streets in NYC last week on Greyhound, I decided to give Megabus a shot.  I had heard good things, and hey...it is cheap, cheap, cheap.  So, here is my review, or shall we say comparrison of the two. Greyhound had ample indoor waiting room which was nice and warm. However, the station itself didn't have real affordable parking in D.C. Eat, Pray, Love - Live Life Out Loud

After being heartbroken Julia Roberts hits the road on a journey called eat pray love. As I prepare to hit the road running again, many people have told me this trip sounds like a movie - but I beg to differ - I call it living life out loud. The simple truth is this:  we are in this world but for a moment in time. Our job while we are here is not to acquire things, climb to top executive positions, or spend our time toiling away now thinking that we will somehow earn the money to buy that time back later. Life can and does change in an instant.  The world is imperfect, uncertain, and broken. The only certainty in this life is death. So in the short time that we have here, why not ask ourselves what of me do I want to leave behind, what memories do I want my friends and family to be left with, and when in the end I leave this life for the next, will I be satisfied knowing that I lived, loved, and experienced this world fully? There is nothing like a big Texas welcome, and no better way to get it done than through a good ole fashioned Texas Rodeo. Our first night in town took us out to Knibbe Ranch. The ranch is a real working cattle ranch located in the Texas Hill Country and is more than 150 years old. Upon arriving we were greeted by Oreo the ranch long horn, which I took the liberty of riding across the lawn. It was a real experience complete with a 6 foot horn span and a borrowed cowgirl hat (hey I had to look somewhat Texan despite my bright pink shoes). Dinner was fantastic! Good ole BBQ brisket, green beans, and peach cobbler. Once our tummies were over full we rolled ourselves over the hill and into the valley for a real Texas rodeo. Cowboys and cowgirls from Texas and Mexico spent the next two hours showing off their roping and riding. There were several 8 second rides posted by the cowboys and a 14.6 second barrel ride posted by one of the cowgirls. The competition was fierce to the end, and sever...
